Let me introduce myself…
Thank you so much for joining the Cornish Beach Bum family — I’m really glad you’re here. I’m Tiffany, the face behind the brand, and I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself properly.
I grew up in Cornwall, with the sea always just a step away. That rugged coastline, the crashing waves, the hidden coves … the ocean wasn’t just my playground, it was my classroom. As a child, I’d spend hours exploring the tideline, watching shells, seaweed and sea glass glint in the sunlight.
That love for nature led me to study Conservation Biology & Ecology, and eventually work in marine conservation projects all around the world. I’ve been privileged to work in places from tropical coral reefs to remote rainforest coastlines — all of which deepened my respect for how delicate our ecosystems are.
My background in conservation is more than just a part of my past — it’s woven into everything I do now. It’s the reason every piece of my jewellery is made to last. I care deeply about the materials I use, and the way I make them.
Here’s how that shows up in my work:
Eco-friendly materials: I use recycled silver and ethically sourced elements.
Sustainable sourcing: For shell charms, I only use empty shells found on the Cornish tideline — no creatures are harmed to make my jewellery.
Sea glass with a story: Much of my work is made from genuine Cornish sea glass — glass that has been gently tumbled by waves and sand into beautiful, smooth pieces.
Eco-friendly packaging: Every piece is packaged responsibly with recyclable materials, and even the polishing cloths are chemical-free.
Because of my conservation background, I’m not just creating jewellery. I’m creating pieces that celebrate the ocean’s beauty and honour its fragility. When you invest in a Cornish Beach Bum piece, you’re choosing quality, sustainability, and meaning — rather than a mass-produced, cheaper item that may not last or reflect those values.
I believe jewellery should be more than just decorative — it should tell a story, connect us to nature, and remind us of what’s important. Every necklace, charm, and bracelet I make is a little tribute to the sea I love, and to the care I hope to offer our planet.
Thank you again for signing up. I can’t wait to share more about my journey, new designs, and how together we can support responsible craftsmanship.
With deep gratitude (and a wave or two),
Tiffany
