Cornflower & Cobalt Blue Sea Glass Earrings

£149.95

These stunning earrings feature six beautiful pieces of Cornish sea glass set in solid sterling silver. Blue sea glass is one of the rarest colours to find, so it takes time to collect matching pairs — making sets like this truly special. The deep ocean blues are perfectly complemented by two soft white sea glass gems, all beachcombed by me from the shores and coves of Cornwall.

Each pair comes with a small map showing where the glass was found, along with a chemical-free polishing cloth.

For thousands of years, blue glass has been treasured for its beauty. Historically expensive to produce, it was made in much smaller quantities than other colours — making it especially prized today. Every piece of sea glass is unique, and I handcraft each silver setting to suit the natural shape and colour of each gem.

Formed when old glass is tumbled for decades by waves, sand, and stone, sea glass transforms into smooth, luminous fragments once known as “Mermaids’ Tears” — said to be the tears of mermaids mourning sailors lost at sea. The colour, texture, and tiny bubbles within each piece hold clues to its origin and age, making these earrings a true piece of Cornwall’s coastal magic.

Unlike artificial or man-made “sea glass,” genuine sea glass can be identified by tiny crescent-shaped markings across the surface—unique patterns created only by the ocean’s touch. I never use imitation glass, only authentic pieces I personally beach-comb.

All photos are taken in natural daylight with no filters. Colours may vary slightly depending on your screen, and as with all true sea glass, the gem will appear to shift shades in different lighting, often glowing beautifully in direct light.
